Stars paid tribute to talk show queen Oprah Winfrey at Sunday night’s Daytime Emmy Awards.

The 38th annual Daytime Emmy Awards, which was held in Las Vegas, presented a star-studded tribute to the former talk show of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” during the live ceremony. It has been reported that Celine Dion took some time off from her stage show in Las Vegas on Sunday night to be a part of the tribute for Oprah.

The live segment of Celine Dion was a special and extraordinary tribute to “The Oprah Winfrey Show”. In the unique moment of the event, Celine Dion sang her famous heartfelt song “Because You Loved Me” live on stage in Caesar’s Palace.

The tribute song wasn’t heartfelt by only Oprah Winfrey, but also by the people who seemed moved after watching the performance.

Besides singing the beautiful song, Celine Dion shared how special Oprah Winfrey is in her life. She added, “I’m honored to be able to participate in this wonderful tribute to my dear friend Oprah!”

The performance by Celine Dion was truly touching and she dedicated “Because You Loved Me” to Oprah. During the last lyrical line of the song, Celine Dion asked the audience to join her in singing.

Besides Celine Dion, Gladys Knight also played his part by opening the tribute by singing “That’s What Friends Are For” as famous scenes from Winfrey’s talk show aired in between verses. He later introduced Dr. Mehmet Oz on stage and said, “Oprah, thank you for being the dean of Oprah University and teaching me the fundamentals of hosting.”

Knight, who donned a red dress to present the Crystal Pillar award said, “As the world knows, ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ has come to an end. Oprah, you may be off the air for now, but you will never, never be out of of our hearts.”

Other than Knight and Celine Dion, Barbara Walters, John Travolta and Ellen DeGeneres also paid tribute to Oprah Winfrey. While Walters congratulated her via tape for being unique and unsurpassed, DeGeneres called her one of the most incredible people she’d ever known.

Oprah Winfrey couldn’t make it up to celebrate the event personally and accepted the award in a taped clip with her entire staff from the talk show set in Chicago’s Harpo Studios.
